The District 40 Map is shown above in light blue with some sections within the district in grey. It spans western Gwinnett and northern Dekalb.

The arched highway in a semicircle is Interstate 285, the diagonal highways heading Northeast are from top to bottom:
- Peachtree Parkway Highway 141
- Buford Highway 23
- Interstate 85
- Lawrenceville Highway 29 is just outside the district.
